World Yarn and Fabric Lower Outputs
Though the last quarter in 2009 gave a great hope for a quick recovery in yarn and fabric production worldwide after the last global financial crisis, the latest report issued by the International Textile Manufacturers Federation ( ITMF ) revealed something else.

According to this report, world yarn production dropped by (-12.8%) in the 1st quarter of 2010 in comparison to the previous one. This fall comes as a result of lower output levels in China (-17.3%), Europe (-4.0%). Positively, production levels went up in North and South America by (+5.1%) and (+17.4%) respectively. On the other hand, world fabric production fall by (-9.7%) as a result of recorded lower output levels in Asia ( -11.4 % ) and Europe ( -3.6% ).
