                What` s the role of the fashion in textile business ?

 

      It is known that the textile industry is one of the most dynamic industries which is vertically integrated, starting from raw material to apparel, it is considered one of the most promising export-oriented industries in Egypt in spite of the impact of the economic crisis of the world.

     This industry has a relative advantage and a competitive advantage especially with using Egyptian cotton but nowadays this is not enough to compete in the world market.  So, the Egyptian textile industries should use the very important tools, which are facilitated by last changing trends leading to premature product replacement and fashion obsolescence. Then let us say the very important one of these tools is fashion.  i.e. the fast fashion in terms of quick response initiative combined with globalization provides access to low cost, mass manufacturing and a cheaper source of product .This is directly linked to reduce quality , which seems to be an acceptable trade-off by fashion followers for the reduced prices .

     Alongside customer tolerance of inferior quality products, there is an acceptance that these garments might not last as long as more expensive items. So, in many cases lesser quality» and bargain items correlate with shorter life spans and a throw

 

away mentality owing much fashion purchase frequency affordability equals disposability in fashion textiles.

   The fashion textiles engagement with sustainability may seem an anomaly, where the heart of contemporary fashion philosophy is design for obsolescence and constant engagement with the new. But the concept of sustainability is being understood in a variety ways by fashion consumers who are making demands on the industry .one of the foreign specialists> description of sustainability is to non-expert hugely complex and simplest version is the milking stool model. With 3 stool legs representing people profit and planet, where all legs are important as each other supporting the seat or platform of sustainability.

   The word transformation at the turn of the century from environmental «which is quantifiable and the impact can be seen « to sustainable « begins the people « pillar «where ethics and social engagement is gaining momentum. in fashion «the business as usual environmental focus is no longer enough yet many retailers and manufacturers still see sustainability as a marketing opportunity , a trend or «a bolt on» optional extra without integrity

   I believe that the above mentioned question already be answered.
