Kofi Annan to Address World Textile Summit 2011
As a unique surprise prepared for the upcoming ITMA 2011 in Barcelona , ITMF and CEMATEX have announced that Mr. Kofi Anan , the former UN Secretary – General will be a keynote speaker at the first ITMA-ITMF World Textile Summit on 21st September 2011.
The Summit is a one-day event, bringing together textile-industry leaders and some of the world’s most influential thinkers and policymakers in strategically important fields such as economics, trade, technology and sustainability.
As a speaker, Mr. Anan reiterates the responsibility of businesses and individuals to address environmental challenges; to undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; to protect human rights and to encourage the development and transfer of environmentally sustainable technologies.
Commenting on this achievement , Mr.Steve Combes, President of CEMATEX, said: “We are privileged to have secured the participation of Kofi Annan, who is a true world figure and pre-eminent statesman.
